She said is hiring a bookseller

Lade das Bild in den Galerie-Viewer, is hiring a bookseller

For the next possible start date, She said is looking for a bookseller (20h/week). Are you interested? Read about the position and the requirements and send your application until the 31st of May to jobs@shesaid.de.

Do you love books and read mainly female and queer authors? Do you know what intersectionality means and want to give more room to marginalized voices? And are you interested in team processes and being a part of an evolving structure? Then you might be a perfect fit for our team!

From the 1st of July onwards, we are looking for a bookseller working 15 – 20 hours a week. You don’t need to be a trained or experienced bookseller. Instead we are looking for someone with:

  • a passion for books (you read at least 4 books a month)
  • political engagement aligning with our core values
  • an awareness of inequalities and varied lived experiences
  • reliability and orderliness (sorting books is your idea of fun ;))
  • an interest for team processes and evolving structures
  • a belief in the bookshop as a place of community exchange
  • flexibility: from time to time you are able to work in the evening at events
  • fluent English and German

This is what we can offer:

  • a motivated team working on a common mission and aspiring to learn together
  • implemented structures i.e. regular team meetings
  • inspiring books, events and community
  • a comfortable place of work
  • room to grow and to develop your own projects
  • a fair salary established in team workshops (in progress)

If this has caught your interest, send us a cover letter including how you identify yourself in the society, your résumé and a list of books you have read in the last six months, all in one email and one attached document, until the 31st of May to jobs@shesaid.de. As we are looking for several new team members, please state “Application for the position of bookseller” in the subject line. If you have any questions, feel free to email jobs@shesaid.de.

In order to be able to represent diverse perspectives and experiences, we especially welcome applications from BIPoC, immigrants/refugees and people with familial migration history, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities as well as people who experience any other kinds of marginalization (i.e. for their religious affiliation). Unfortunately, the workplace is not wheelchair accessible.
