We are delighted to announce our next event: a reading by Nino Bulling and Bär Kittelmann on the graphic novel firebugs. Text and projections are by Nino Bulling and Bär Kittelmann joins with sounds and music. Fantastic Charlotte Milsch will lead through the evening.

The reading will start next Wednesday, the 29th of March at 8 pm. You can buy tickets @ She said or through here (on the upper left). The event will be in English.

firebugs is published in a cooperation between Colorama and Edition Moderne. Here is what they say about the graphic novel:

“Actually, everything is perfectly okay. Ingken is together with Lily, who seems to be content with herself and her life. Ingken on the other hand is struggling a lot. Set against the background of global climate change, Ingken is searching for a self-determined identity, a new name, for the things that can remain as they were and those that have to disappear. What is it that makes us humans? Do we have to burn everything down in order to define ourselves anew? Or can we also hold on to some things?

A genuine and insightful story about love, transitioning and all the greys you can find between gender identities, bodies (those damn bodies 😈) finding yourself, holding each other up and holding space, new beginnings and so much more.”

And this is what Gesine Claus from the graphic novel shop Strips and Stories says:
“‘The World Is On Fire’—your own and the real one out there. Bushfires rage in Australia and Ingken’s world is thrown off balance. The ecological threat interweaves with fears of change. On this fluid journey to oneself, everything falters and yet is connected. What can we hold on to when we don’t know yet how everything might feel right?”
